2015년10월19일(월) 09:30-21:30 에 캐나다 전국에서 실시한,

캐나다 총선인  연방하원(Member of Parliament.:M.P.)을 선출하는 선거에서 

캐나다인들에게 가장 존경 받는 정치인 캐나다 前 수상 故 트루도(Trudeau)의 아들인  

저스틴 트르도(Justin Trudeau)가 이끄는 캐나다 자유당(Liberal Party of Canada:lpc)이

338 의석 중 184석(54.4%)을 차지, 선거에서 압승하면서 앞으로 4년간 캐나다를 새롭게

이끌어 가게 되었다.

이러한 자유당 트루도의 열풍에 휘말려

현 집권당인 보수당(Consevative Party:CON)은 99석을 차지,

제1야당으로 밀려 나게 되었으며, 그 결과 보수당 당수 하퍼수상도 

자유당 당수 트루도에게 수상직을 물려 주며,10년간의 집권에 막을 내리게 되었다.

이번 총선에서의 각 당의 득표율은 자유당 39.5%, 보수당 31.9%, 신민당 19.7%,

퀘벡당 4.7%,녹색당 3.4%의 분포를 보였다.

2011년 총선에서 각 당의 득표율은 LPC    18.9%, CON   39.6%,  NDP   30.6%  

BQ     6.1%, GRC  3.9%  이었었다.

이번 2015.10.19. 총선은 총 유권자 25,638,379명 중 17,559,353명이 투표하여 68.49%라는 비교적 높은 투표율을 보여 주었다.

또한 지난 2011년도 총선에서 故 잭 레이톤(Jack Layton)의 열풍을 타고 

무려 92석을 차지하며 제1 야당으로 군림 했던 신민당(New Democratic Party:NDP)은 

이번 선거에서 48석의 의석을 잃고, 겨우 44석을 차지하면서  

제2 야당(당수' 톰 멀크레어(Tom Mulcair)'으로 추락하는 참혹한 결과를 맞게 되었다.

퀘벡주의 독립을 외치는 퀘벡당(Bloc Quebecois)은 의외로 퀘벡 동부에서 善戰하면서

10석을 차지하였고,

또한 조용하고 청명한 자연환경 조성을 Moto로 하는 녹색당(Party of Green Canada)는

1석을 차지하게 되면서,

캐나다 연방의회(한국의 국회)는 338 의석(의석 점유율)중

자유당(LPC) 184석(54,4%) , 보수당(CON) 99석(29.3%), 신민당(NDP) 44석(13.0%),

퀘벡당(BQ) 10석(3.0%),녹색당(PGC)1석(0.3%)으로 구성하게 되었으며,

자유당은 과반수 이상의 의석을 획득,42세의 젊은 수상 트루도를 앞세워

보다 신선하고 강력하게 캐나다를 이끌어 갈 수 있는 힘을 갖게 되었다.

그동안 몬트리올 한인 커뮤니티를 적극적으로 협조하며 한인 Community에

많은 공적을  남겼던

신민당(NDP)소속 캐나다 연방하원의원(M.P.)이었던 'Isabelle MORIN' 출마자는

자유당 트르도의 열풍에 밀려 선거에 패배하며

자유당 소속 출마자 앙쮸 딜롱(Ms. Anju DHILLON)에게

/몬트리올 한인 Community 협조의원 중 BEST 5중 하나/ 바통을 넘겨 주게 되었다.

 MORIN (NOTRE-DAME-DE-GRACE—LACHINE) REITERATES HER SUPPORT FOR CANADA-KOREA FREE TRADE AGREEMENT

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 29, 2014 – 9:00 am

LACHINE - NDP MP Isabelle Morin expresses again her support for the new trade deal reinforcing commercial and economic relations between Canada and South Korea. “The NDP is pleased with Korea’s respect for democracy and human rights, fair labour policies, and good environmental practices. I spoke with many Koreans living in my riding and I share their enthusiasm for this agreement” said the MP for NDG-Lachine, who represents most of the Korean community in Montreal.

Canadian exports to South Korea amounted to 7.3 billion dollars in 2013. South Korea is the seventh largest trading partner of Canada. Potential economic benefits are huge in terms of exports and jobs. “This agreement will enable some Canadian industries to enter the Korean market as well as other Asian markets more easily” added Morin.

The NDP acknowledges the importance of free trade in this 21^st century. However, some points in the agreement still need to be further clarified. The NDP urges the government to make sure the Canadian automobile industry is not adversely impacted by the deal.  “It is most unfortunate that the Conservatives would vote down the NDP’s proposed amendments that would have helped protect jobs and workers in the Canadian auto industry” said Morin.

   Dr. Marc GARNEAU  Profile> 

Having earned a BSc in Engineering and a PhD in Electrical Engineering(공학사 & 전자공학 박사)

Marc first worked as a combat systems engineer in the Canadian Navy.

He became widely known to the Canadian public, however,

as the first Canadian astronaut to go into space. (캐나다 최초의 우주 비행사)

He subsequently served in several different positions, including President of the Canadian Space Agency,

until he entered federal politics in 2005.

In addition to having drafted several resolutions in the House,

Marc has served as the Liberal Critic for Industry, Science, and Technology, as well as for Natural Resources.

He was also the Leader of the Liberal Party’s representative in Quebec and served as the party’s House Leader.

He is currently the Liberal Critic for Foreign Affairs and the Francophonie.

Marc has received several honours. In 2003, he was made a Companion of the Order of Canada.

Two Ontario high schools are named after him, (온타리오에 있는 두 고등학교가 그의 이름을 사용)

as is a spaceship in a book that is part of the popular Star Trek series (Millennium: The Fall of Terok Nor).

He has also served as the Chancellor of Carleton University and is an Honorary Captain of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets
